Annabelle Frazier

Bio
Dr. Annabelle Frazier is a decision-making scientist in wrongful conviction and innocence scholarship. At CJFSS, she is the Graduate Program Coordinator. With a Ph.D. in Applied Psychology from UMass Lowell, two graduate certificates in Forensic Criminology and Advanced Counterterrorism and Homeland Security, and a clinical license in counseling, Dr. Frazier brings a multidisciplinary approach to her research, teaching, and mentorship. Her work explores decision-making in the criminal legal system, focusing on high-stigma cases and the systemic pressures that shape legal outcomes. Her research often uses experimental paradigms to study decisional processes within the cumulative disadvantage framework. Before joining Southern Miss, Dr. Frazier served as Director of Social Service Advocacy for the Massachusetts public defender system. Dr. Frazier is known for her commitment to inclusive teaching and her engagement with both scholarly and practitioner communities.

Dr. Frazier frequently teaches Criminal Justice Ethics (CJ 482), Introduction to Terrorism (CJ 377), and Seminar in Criminal Justice Policy (CJ 670). She has also taught the well-received, interdisciplinary Honors seminar (HON 303) "Decisions, Decisions."
